Review of Green Lantern (2011) by Dimitri C — 27 Aug 2014
Critics don't like it... I don't care. What else is new. I don't watch movies like this to pick the details apart. I rather like escaping reality for a little while. I like living in a world where things may not make sense for an hour and a half. I have an imagination that is in overdrive most of the time and movies like this allow me to escape. So as far fetched as a lot of it may seem. I DON'T CARE! The concept of a character such as The Green Lantern is anything but real anyways. That's what makes it fun to read in comic books and I wouldn't expect it to be any other way on screen.
So to sum it up: The Green Lantern - Fun and imaginative, great characters, decent acting. Lacked some character building, but Ryan Reynolds does a decent job trying to make up for it. Some of the CGI isn't as polished as it could have been, but it can be easily overlooked.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars. If you love to live in your imagination and don't over anal-yze everything, the movie is great. If you lack imagination and tend to anal-yze everything, just stay away. This movie isn't for you anyways.
