Review of Green Lantern (2011) by Thomas G — 28 Mar 2016
While flawed at points, the film delivered exactly what that fans wanted. A big screen capture of the comics they love. The film does ask you to swallow some resolutions without much conflict or reasoning, and towards the end, things get a little rushed (even production value).
However, this was the first 3D film this year where I actually enjoyed the 3D, and didn't find it be a nuisance. It wasn't the most thoughtful comic film this summer, nor did it give itself enough time to develop a strong narrative core, but it was the mos sincere attempt, and the most enjoyable to watch.
When you are in a midnight premier surrounded by glowing green rings, and the films ends to cheers and applause, there is something magical, and you know you did your job. (Oh, and remember to watch the credits.
