Review of Green Lantern (2011) by Atthemovies — 19 Jun 2011
This is only an OK superhero movie. It is incredibly noisy, it is over produced, and the acting is nothing to brag about. The special effects are amazing, as to be expected. I was incredibly disappointed by the final battle between the Green Lantern and whatever the villain was.
The battle ended rather quickly and in a cheap way. There was a lot of stuff introduced in the film, such as his father's death, that did not get explained. The best part of the movie was Geoffrey Rush as that fish like being.
He was also the narrator, and he has an awesome voice, so that was nice. Overall, it is not a good movie that is also a comic book, such as The Dark Knight, and it is not a good comic book movie, either.
If you are a fan of the Green Lantern, see it, if not, and you want to see a superhero movie, see a better one. I recommend X-men: First Class, or Thor, both of which are far better.
