Review of Green Ice (1981) by Tim S — 04 Sep 2014
Green Ice, otherwise known as Operation: Green Ice, is one of the most boring and uninteresting movies I've come across in a while. The film tells the story of jewel thieves on the run from each other in South America.
There's lots of intrigue, car chases, and action, and all of it falls completely flat, at least to me. Ryan O'Neal is uninteresting as the lead, which is the film's main problem right off the bat.
He's uncharismatic and lacks the ability to do anything but smirk most of the time. Anne Archer and Omar Sharif are a bit better, and there's also a small part by John Larroquette. The film really goes nowhere fast and fails completely at being anything but a major bore.
The only thing I can give credit is the landscapes and the photography, both of which are the most interesting aspects about it. Otherwise, it's abysmal.
