Review of Green Fire (1954) by Dylan W — 19 Nov 2009
Dreadfully dull film about an emerald miner (Stuart Granger) who finds both love and conflict with the owner of a nearby coffee plantation, played by Grace Kelly.
Neither the action nor the love story are convincing in the least and the theme song is laughable (a rare misstep for the great composer Miklos Rozsa) even for the time the picture was released.
I can only imagine what a great director like Howard Hawks would have done with this story.
