Review of Green Book (2018) by Davidtejada — 10 Feb 2019
“After watching a bunch of Hollywood films, I deeply believed it was time to change some genres and prototypical actors on screen which was my best decision so far because this movie is about friendship, countryside trips, racial treatment, and many more fun adventures of the 1962s”.
I am not keen on watching movies without either a remarkable director or well-known actors, however, as I wanted to run over different genres and experiences I decided it would be appropriate to give chances. The opportunity of changing habits is as challenging as employing a double-edged sword because you will never know when and how is the film going to disappoint/amaze you, so I wanted to get something out of my system. Therefore, after watching The Green Book I felt blissful and stress-free because this was the type of film I wanted to see (and I had not seen for a while) because they (Mortensen and Ali) provide good laughs, lessons about life, the overwhelmed decade of the 60s and finally the different lifestyles some people might have. From the very beginning, I thought this was going to succeed because (even the music) softs the situation representing the soul soundtrack of the movie. Could you imagine a radical change between pop-culture references with modern-life habits and a great old-fashioned but nice-looking film bowing to the 60s? It felt like this….
Every single act performed in the movie represents a bond between the character’s way of acting and a call back to their past bringing back so many memories lived of each one, either happy or sad about their epoch-status. Examples like this could support you in fully-understanding the key of its success, I would love to offer you more information and specific details, nevertheless, I do not want to spoil anything.
