The cast was well set. The production design and costumes were amazing. But all fell short on the cut, cropped and sloppily taped back together story. I've seen many adaptations, all exceed expectations with their version of this classic.
This one, unfortunately, lowered expectations to the all time low. Not even Ralph Fiennes could save it I'm afraid. My expectation was that, being a BBC made film, it would hit the mark. No such luck.
