I haven't had the chance to read the story yet so I don't know how much better it could have been. Although this movie didn't leave me in tears like I'm sure it wanted to do, there was something about it that I really liked.
Perhaps it's the twisted tale of broken hearts and revenge. I think it may have been the combination of art and great music. Although it wasn't enough to strike a chord in me, I was able to appreciate it for it's efforts and I liked the twist in the end.
If I was to describe it, I would say that it's intense. It means to be intense which comes off like it's trying too hard, and at some points, it just looks lame. However, I appreciate this movie as a whole rather than all it's individual parts.
