Review of Great Expectations (1998) by Leni V — 01 Jun 2008
This is a movie for the hopeless romantic. And, even if you're not a hopeless romantic - like me - you will enjoy it. It doesn't follow strictly the book, but Cuaron knows how to transport the magic and essence of the story to our time.
This movie introduced me to Cuaron's work and I fell in love with it. Everything here is perfect: characters, acting, music, clothes... all of it is part of a big picture, even more powerful than Finn's own art.
