To me this movie is the perfect example of what fiction is and how we project our own hopes, desires, dreams and expectations in stories. This movie represents the desires and expectations of a young man, and as a the young man I was when I watched this movie for the first time, I really felt identified with all these hopes, desires, dreams and expectations.
