Review of Great Expectations (1998) by Jassim A — 21 Jan 2009
The movie is a refreshing retelling of a classic story. And it was a very excellent work. Whoever suggested to let this mexican director helm this Dickens material should be congratulated. Like thiking out of a box, he brought in a new dimension to this old story.
The actors were in themselves phenomenal. Bancroft was divine! Paltrow and Hawke gave a great performances, even the young kids who played their younger were simply wonderful! And dont let me start with DeNiro --- BRAVO!
