Review of Grease (1978) by Stefan G — 03 Apr 2013
This is easily one of the most overrated movies of all time. The opening animation at the beginning was actually pretty good, but that's when the enjoyment dies. All the boys look like insufferable frat boys, and all the girls look ugly.
The characters in general have shallow, one-dimensional personalities, and the story itself is full of ancient movie stereotypes, along with being a corny 50's tribute. If the whole movie were animated like in the title, it would have been much better.
But if it weren't a musical, it would have been worse, because it would end up being another lame high school movie. Maybe I just don't like musicals very well.
