Review of Grease (1978) by Richard C — 12 Jan 2014
This film has been a huge part of my life since childhood and helped develop my interest in rock and roll music. Randal kleisers direction and bronte woodward's sharp and funny screenplay give you the sense that the cast had a massive amount of fun filming this.
The songs stick firmly in the head and the soundtrack is amongst the biggest sellers on cd and vinyl for a very good reason. The film sparned 2 no1 singles in 1978 (you're the one that I want and summer nights) and the fact that those songs spent a total of 16 weeks at no1 is testament to how great a film this is.
