Review of Grease (1978) by Alfonso D — 09 Apr 2015
This is the best musical movie ever made in Film history. No doubt about it. A must see. Include this title in your "movies-to-watch-before-to-die" list.
This is Olivia Newton-John at her best. One of John Travolta's first great steps in Hollywood. A superb cast. Excellent songs and dance sequences. It is a movie full of good energy, and it remembers you all the good things about being young: first love, school, hanging around with your friends, a date with your girlfriend at the movies, you name it.
Maybe I am not objective because when I saw this movie I was about 10 and I got a big crush on Olivia Newton-John, but who wouldn't? It is practically imposible to watch this movie and not fall in love of her. I watch this movie again, and the warm feelings of the first time I noticed a beautiful charming woman on a movie screen return to my mind. Maybe she was my first platonic love, and watching her singing "hopelessly devoted to you" makes me to love her again. That is one of my favorite scenes.
Anyway, forget about "glee" or any other bull-shit Disney stupid musical series about school and singing. Before tuesday there was monday. This is THE musical movie you need to see and you will never want to see another one.
