Review of Gravity (2013) by Pierre K — 11 May 2015
I'm rather torn about this film. On one hand is well acted and beautifully rendered. On the other hand it's murphy's law in space. It's both accurate and inaccurate scientifically. It's thrilling and epic and edge of your seat gripping, but on the other hand there's no real sense that Dr.
Stone isn't going to make it. It's not too long at 91 minutes but it's 84 minutes of you knowing Dr. stone is gonna make because otherwise, what would the rest of the film be about? It's good even great if you've never seen such a thing before.
But if you ever seen a murphy's law film then you know where this one is going. I can see how in the face of a decade of lackluster films this seems like gold and sometimes it's not about the destination, it's about the journey.
The journey is great but once you arrive at the destination the ride is over.
