Review of Gravity (2013) by Jc E — 15 May 2015
Pinnacle of film making. Stunning views of the blue misty planet from outer space. Absolutely enthralling drama in space with visually stunning stunts in the cold dark silent vacuum world without gravity.
Not since Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) in aliens has another woman been so desperate to survive in space till Ryan (Sandra Bullock) came along. Fortunately for Sandra, she has a guardian angel, Matt, played by the amazing George Clooney, who came back to coaxed her back to her fighting spirit just when she has given up for dead.
While Sandra dominated every scene in the film, the stellar moments were those far too few and precious scenes with George Clooney, who played the calm, competent, fearless, and self sacrificial astronaut.
Are all astronauts trained to be so fearless of death like George Clooney? They must be in the face of all those space debris projectiles breaking up the space crafts and the ever constant danger of running out of oxygen or freezing in space.
