Review of Gravity (2013) by Matt B — 03 Jan 2015
Hold on tight. "Gravity", Alfonso Cuaron`s latest film, is built for thrills in a marvelously poetic way. It would be a sin not to note that the visual effects in "Gravity" are easily the most beautiful, accessible, and realistic vision of space ever seen on the big screen, but the most beautiful elements are the work from Director Alfonso Cuaron and leading role Sandra Bullock.
George Clooney has a small, but undeniably great supporting role as an experienced astronaut, but Bullock`s performance grabs hold of you. I still don't understand how Cuaron got the shots that he did and how he made this film look so effortless, but the result is, as I mentioned, poetic.
The score gathers emotion and adds to the story and characters, while it also creates great moods to certain scenes. "Gravity" is a rare film experience.
