Review of Grave Encounters (2011) by Cade H — 22 Oct 2011
Grave Encounters was filmed like it was footage from a ghost hunter type tv show, where the tape was found and this is what they saw. I was not expecting a lot from this one but it was surprisingly creepy and kept me on the edge of my seat.
The whole first half of the movie was all build up, nothing really happened at all for almost an hour. Then noises started, things starting moving and the cameras they had set up around the building started seeing things.
Once the build up hit its breaking point things hit the fan and went really bad for the film crew. There were a lot of good genuine scares and lots of things that made me jump. Toward the end however things got a little to out of hand and they strayed away from what made the first part of the movie so good.
The film has some really shocking moments and has a lot of scares similar to Paranormal Activity and if you enjoy horror movies and being scared give this one a shot.
