Review of Grave Encounters (2011) by Taylor Z — 27 Mar 2012
Grave encounters continues what is becoming the newest sub-genre of horror, being the POV camera or "found footage" genre. The story follows Lance Preston (Sean Rogerson) and his team of paranormal experts through a psychiatric hospital in Maryland to film the 6th episode of their television series "Grave Encounters".
The film builds up slowly but establishes itself as one of the best in the genre with the use of 5 stand-alone cameras and 3 hand-held. This film contains a good amount of scares, both jumpy and foreseen but also provides a decent enough story to sympathize with the terrified characters.
