Review of Grave Encounters (2011) by Brandon M — 03 Apr 2012
This was an extremely unsettling and freaky movie. It took a bit for the action to get started, but once it did, it was relentless. Some parts were better than others, and some of the scares were cheesey and weird, but the shear creepiness, terrifying and amazing sound design, and feeling of claustrophobia it gives you due to the freaky building they are seemingly forever locked in, is enough to keep you going through this movie with your teeth nipping at your nails.
It has its truly unsettling and spine tingling moments, countered with far-too-plentiful f-bombs. The movie, like I said, has a slow and jagged start, but once it picks up pace it becomes fun and an adventure you wont soon forget.
