Review of Grandma (2015) by Brad S — 14 May 2016
Grandma is a great dramedy that boasts a stellar lead performance. Lily Tomlin shines in the role that is perfectly made for her. She shines in every scene. The rest of the cast is good too. I liked Julia Garner a lot in particular.
The story is very good. I really liked Paul Weitz's script. The dialogue was really well written. I thought the directing was fine. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't horrible. I liked the story's fast pace.
It is only an hour and 19 minutes. I'm glad they didn't drag anything out. I did laugh at the comedy in the film. I was also invested in the drama. There was a nice balance between drama and comedy.
Overall, I throughly enjoyed this movie. I definitely recommend it.
