Review of Grand Theft Auto (1977) by Ian C — 07 Sep 2008
Roger Corman is the king of B Movies and has a talent for finding young actors and directors who would later become Hollywood superstars. Ron Howard's directorial debut does not disappoint.
Obviously low budget and shot on a very tight schedule, it's essentially a 94 minute car chase and a stupid good time.
I even went back and listened to the director's commentary, with Corman and Howard discussing what it was like to be a first time director, what he learned from the experience, and how he got so much from so little time and money.
