Review of Grand Prix (1966) by Patrick B — 03 Aug 2007
Staggering to think this film is now more than 40 years old. the racing scenes in this film are just beautiful. such a classy era of motor racing preserved for all time in a film that was perhaps ahead of its time.
frankenheimer gives us a top gun of the 60's, a meld of speed and sound and a dazzling treat for the senses. its arrival on DVD last year was great as it made it accessible for the first time to a generation of movie and F1 fans.
still the film to beat in terms of racing put to film.
