Review of Grand Piano (2013) by Kate H — 12 Jul 2014
Bit of fun, this. Elijah Wood plays a concert pianist with debilitating stage fright who is returning to the stage. Written in red on his score are the words "play one wrong note and you die", except the person under threat is really his wife.
We spend the length of the concert watching all kinds of insanity go on while wondering precisely when the wife or the performer are going to be shot. Nicely tense at most points but some of the utter insanity gets in the way but what's a B horror film without a bit of insanity?
I did enjoy John Cusack a lot as the menacing voice in the earpiece and I think he had a nice bit of fun himself too.
