Review of Grand Piano (2013) by Peter S — 31 Mar 2017
Wow. This is certainly new and different. I am a piano player, it is my major in college, so I probably enjoyed this more than most people. A pianist with stage fright truly finds out what it means to have stage fright when he finds a frightening message in his score saying that if he hits one wrong note, he will be shot.
The film is compelling throughout, and the music is excellent. Bonus points: it was written by Damien Chazelle, who wrote and directed Whiplash and La La Land. Highly recommended for everyone unless you need sex, drugs and violence to be entertained.
