Maybe I gave it an extra half-star more than it deserves, but I found this movie strangely poetic at times. The melodramatic music makes every scene feel like a dramatic climax and/or like whatever good thing that is happening is suddenly going to be destroyed.
Some wonderful performances and a solid script, although the characters' deepness makes them all sound like philosophers. So yes, a bit melodramatic, but definitely better than CRASH. I loved it.
