This movie reminded me way too much of L.A. Story, which also starred (and was written by) Steve Martin. It was the same sort of introspective drama only set in the less wacky/flashy/affluent side of L.
A. I enjoyed it but with the nagging feeling throughout that I'd seen it all before...
