Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Jeffrey G — 13 Aug 2012
Only Eastwood could make this film work o any level. Few actors could play Walt as anything less than a caricature, and it's a testament to Eastwood's iconic stature that he manages not only to pull it off, but to do it with style.
Having said that, the film itself is a bit heavy-handed, and the supporting cast are total lightweights who have no business sharing the screen with this legend of cinema.
Still...it's Eastwood.
