Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Dennis M — 24 Aug 2012
A very fine movie and an EXCELLENT end (?) for Eastwood's on-screen career. The character of Kowalski reminds us of many of his past roles but the journey he makes in this film makes everything not only make sense, but makes it more than worth while to watch and a perfect place to stop.
It also makes Eastwood seem like the kind of person you'd love to have a beer or a cup of coffee with; he has gotten only better with age. As for the movie, the (surprising) ending is top notch, too!
