Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Thomas P — 21 Sep 2012
A racist war veteran confronts his own prejudices after his wife's death when he comes across 2 Hmong siblings.
The best thing about this movie is Kowalski's character development. From a racist, sad man he gradually confronts his fears and overcomes them ,to progress as a character. His final martyric sacrifice was the peak of his changed heart .
A little exaggerated (this goes for the action part) but generally fully informative start of the movie, was succeded by a more dull at times mid ,which concluded in an unexpected and sad way, this movie kept you sucked in and agonizing at most times.Clint's perfomance was exceptional too , but Toad needed a little more work in my opinion.
RATING : 8.0.
