Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Jordan P — 25 Oct 2012
Only Clint Eastwood could come up with this kind of vision on film. Or have the guts to put it out there. We will start with the small stuff first. Best, most realistic gang movie portrayed. Easily one of the best films on relationships.
Now the complicated. It is a part of our culture to be wrapped up in something for so long it overcomes our very lifes and thought process. Walt Kowalski is a tame version of a lot of people in this world.
As well as one more open minded than most of them. I love that the bottom line of this movie is what makes us change? It is sometimes the most unlikely person on scenario that does it to us. If you laugh at the movie you are normal.
If you are offended by this movie you are the very people it portrays as Walt Kowalski in the beggining. No movie THIS YEAR has put forth the combination of laughter, drama, tears of joy and sorrow as this film does.
Like Crash this movie is a definate must see and a triumph of what makes this world what it is sometimes, both good and bad.
