Review of Gran Torino (2008) by Zed C — 18 Feb 2013
10/10 - Brilliant. What takes me so long to watch some movies? Early on I was thinking, "Man, some of these performances are off", but in the end, everything worked perfectly. It sure does show things in a light I've been seeing them in for a long time now. The melting pot has overflowed. Some might think they have over exaggerated certain things, but they nailed it. Asian Gangs act like Mexican Gangs, who act like Black Gangs who act like Italian Gangs from the 50s/60s. And sadly, the one white kid not related to Walt is just your typical wigger, trying to fit into a society that's pissing on itself, and is honestly the saddest character in the film. The Gooks, Spics and Niggers are just trying to fit into their own sub-culture, where the white kid is just trying to fit into a mold that's the highest in trend.
Anywho, broke away from the flick for a moment.
