Yeah, more than a bit formulaic. But, it's good movie to watch with your kids who love soccer, particularly if they are boys and you want to expose them to how difficult things were (and are, to an extent) for girls in sports.
Of course, it's a great movie for girls to see, too. I liked it, and I maintain that my long-standing crush on Elisabeth Shue has nothing to do with that.
