Review of Grace Unplugged (2013) by Jon C — 05 Oct 2013
Giant clichés aside this is a terrific Christian film that doesn't try too hard or shove things down people's throats.
Amanda Michalka is excellent in the lead and so is Denton playing her father.
Grace becomes 'unplugged' into the world of music and her religious faith going against her father's wishes pursuing her music.
It doesn't dawn on her that everything hits her hard when she becomes big and that's the price with making it in the music industry.
It comes at her from all angles from love to writing songs to combating her faith.
The acting mainly from Michalka is not half-bad, you actually buy her as a new upcoming artist.
And the music really moved me in a way I didn't think it would.
Some tugs at your heartstrings are also done very smoothly and not ham-fisted.
The film unlike a majority of others is not manipulative or preachy in any way which is a good thing.
'Grace Unplugged' explores the true definition of pure success.
