Review of Grace Is Gone (2007) by Phil C — 06 Jun 2008
I'm having a hard time deciding how many stars to give this. Quite a bit is fit into this relatively short movie: the three main characters dealing with daily life without Grace (because she's at war); a glimpse at a military spouse support group; Stanley dealing with their loss; Stanley's feelings of duty/patriotism; the brother who has fundamentally opposite viewpoints; the girls dealing with their loss.
. . . I don't think a longer movie would have been an improvement--there was already a slow feel to it. It was a heavy way to spend an evening; but, it was well done.
