Review of Grace Is Gone (2007) by Marnie Z — 29 May 2009
The acting in the movie was generally good (although the youngest daughter annoyed me to no end), but the story seemed haphazard and incomplete. It hints at why the characters are the way they are, but seems to leave the rest out.
Movies at an amazingly slow pace, and tried a little too hard to intentionally tug at the heartstrings. The story itself is sad enough (for many reasons, but this is not the place for a political rant), and I hate when a movie seems to think the audience is too dense to get it without adding over-the-top music and "climactic scenes" to make sure that you feel something.
Overall, a very disappointing movie.
