Review of Gozu (2003) by Jessi T — 09 Mar 2008
This is a break in style from most of what I've seen from Takashi Miike, and it's handled very well. The story is sort of Lynch-ian, which means perception-altering and fairly non-sequitor bits throughout.
This movie is very much up for interpertation, as Miike leaves the ending wiiide open, as is generally the case. I really enjoyed the flick, even if the fluids used within were icky thump.
