Review of Goya's Ghosts (2006) by Amy M — 20 May 2008
Anyone who knows me pretty much knows I could give a crap about big names in a movie. More than often they screw it up and boy did they make a mess of this one by casting big names.
Can I just begin with the accents alone? I forgot what country the movie was set in since not a single person had a Spanish accent. No one even LOOKED Spanish. The acting was mediocre at best, I mean this Javier guy...the expressionless oaf...how did he become an actor? OK so I didn't like the movie at all and I really believe my husband put it best so I'm going to quote him instead of babbling on...
"Here's the movie in a nutshell: Organized Religion = BAD War = BAD People = EVIL Randy Quaid plays the King of Spain (no, seriously...stop laughing).".
