Review of Gotti (2018) by Gene S — 18 Jun 2018
Before Gotti there was only Reservoir Dogs, Scarface, Casino, Miller's Crossing, and Goodfellas as my favorite organized crime movies. Now there is a new King of Crime and his name is John Travolta.
This is JT's best performance and should finally earn him an Oscar nod. I don't understand how the critics could get this so wrong, and I have no vested interest in the financial performance of this masterpiece.
It is simply excellent, clean, uncluttered, and a fair portrayal of one of New York's most famous modern icons.
