Review of Gotti (2018) by Angelica%20 S — 20 Jun 2018
First and foremost John Travolta is fantastic is this movie. He is very serious and it's very scary as a gangster. More believable than I expected him to be because I am used to see him dancing in several movies and even in Quentin Tarantino's movie is a gangster's employee but his is funny, here in this movie, he is a crime boss that climbs the latter the cosa nostra way, but there is also great focus on how he was as a friend, father and husband.
While there is a lot of violence it's not too glorified or too spectacular and some audiences expect either for him to at some point dance or at some point be funny or the great choreographed fights or special effects.
This movie is very real story telling, it was very interesting. It contains a lot of the real footage from the real gangster. Some movies do not compare their character to the real man early in the movie but at the end but the movie wanted to make sure that people knew this character because he is not one of the most famous while in his time he was in many newspapers frequently daily news and in big magazine covers.
I like this movie. Kelly Preston looks very Italian in this movie, and had a lot of the gestures and behaviors of Italian women, I loved her performance. If there is something I would've liked is more inclusion of the Italian fashion history :-) and more Italian speaking.
