My Dad loves mob movies! And I was excited to watch one too. Backroom deals, hits, laughing in the face of the law. And although on paper, all of it was there, the great action scenes were a little - dry.

This movie is a lot more like a typical biography (perhaps even a made-for-TV one) than it was an awesome true-life mob movie. If you know little about the Gotti story, nothing will make sense. Characters are not fully developed and the plot jumps and skips decades at a time.

And worst yet, if you do know the story, there's nothing new, nothing exciting left about it. John Travolta's acting is believable but he's just soo John Travolta that it is hard to see past the actor himself.

All of the supporting cast could honestly be replaced - even mid movie - and no one would notice. This movie had no peaks or valleys. It was a dry, historical recount of the life of John Gotti and really nothing to make it worth a blockbuster experience.

Overall, I would not recommend watching this movie. 0/5.
