The concept is interesting and you're not always sure if what you're seeing is real or not, but you never know exactly where the story is going. That can be good in some cases, but in this case, it just leaves the reveal feeling diconnected and unrealistic.
It uses a lot of startle tactics, which DO startle but are, at the same time, predictable.
