(2001) Gosford Park.
DRAMA/ MYSTERY.
This is yet another film that 'demands the right frame of mind' involving a bunch of wealthy aristocrats visiting a mansion for a tempory hunting expedition, except that on the first hour and 20 minutes was just pure introduction to the huge enormous cast which includes Maggie Smith, Krston Scott Thomas, Ryan Phillipe, Clive Owen, Emily Watson, Helen Mirren and many more and was during at that time a murder finally happened. Leaving no clues or hints to the viewer into figuring out this murder but is finally revealed at the end during a total running time of 2 hours and 13 minutes. The main protagonist which is very appearant from the start of the film is Mary played by likable Kelly Macdonald of "No Country For Old Men" and "Trainspotting" fame!
As a result watching many films, what I got from watching this was what I haven't seen on other previous films made before it which may be some of the director Robert Altman's influences such as "Remains of the Day" and "The Rules of the Game" about additional behaviors upon the rich British upper class and can be quite long to any young viewer who hasn't seen enough films or be aware about the rich English beaurocratic history!
2.5 out of 4.
