Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Simona E — 13 Aug 2008

I really do not appreciate it when a director overlooks the importance of dialogue in the effort to create a mysterious environment, thereby witholding information that is relevant to a complete storyline, as done in Gosford Park.

While the viewer should get a sense of mystery through the cinematography, and through the overall sequence of the scenes, it should not substitute pertinant dialogue necessary to fully-developed characters.
