Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Raymund L — 01 Jul 2010
It gets some things wrong but it gets more things right. This handsomely crafted period piece works best as a social commentary with its witty take on the shallow and snobbish upper class. The murder mystery is handled relatively well although not very convincingly but it does get a good and poignant resolution.
The characters, though, are underdeveloped but even that is salvaged by the great dialogue and the terrific acting.
