Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Jonny P — 03 Jul 2011
A very unusual and interesting film. At first I was a little skeptical, but it quickly managed to catch my attention. Usually I don't like period films like this. But Gosford Park had something special about it. Now be it the great ensemble cast or the profound screenplay, I don't know. All I know is I liked it and I would really have liked to see more of the film. But unfortunately, it has pretty much no plot. And that's what makes it worse again. I mean, the characters and the setting is great and all. It has this Cluedo-feeling about it. But it lacks some point or actual storyline.
Anyway, the idea and acting are too good to rate this movie negative. I'd really like to see a play made out of this - or actually act in the play myself ;).
17 points from me.
