Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Sutthirak P — 27 Apr 2012

I can see why this movie won The Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards because this movie was incredibly well written. Gosford Park is a Drama/Mystery movie and it tells the story of the rich people and the servants that serve the rich people, but when someone gets murdered they all come together and try to figure out who did it.

This movie consists of a strong cast because it stars Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Jeremy Northam, Alan Bates, Helen Mirren, Clive Owen, Ryan Phillippe and Stephen Fry. Pretty much the whole cast does a great job they do there parts really well but I really think Clive Owen and Maggie Smith were the best in this movie.

I think they each played a strong role and they were the ones that made the movie interesting. I know some people say this movie is really boring and honestly I can't blame them for saying that because this movie does have a lot of scenes that drag on and some parts are just irrelevant to the movie, but for me I didn't really care because I enjoyed this movie.

But just because I enjoyed it doesn't mean everyone else will enjoy it so I wouldn't recommend this movie to everyone only to people that know what this movie is.
