Review of Gosford Park (2001) by Matt M — 25 Mar 2013
A group of moneyed people arrives at a household for a weekend shooting party. Never tied fully to a conventional genre, rather flirting with period drama, comedy and thrillers much like the work of Agatha Christie and Renoir's Rules of the Game from which this film freely draws inspitarion, Altman once again explores the drama and comedy of intertwining storylines in this period piece with a good screenplay that looks at interesting aspects like the relations between the upper class and their servants and the bitterness among the wealthy people.
It also features a quality star studded cast.
