Feeling a bit of withdrawal after the Downton Christmas special, and after not having seen this Altman classic for over ten years, seeing it again made me realize how marvelous this is in comparison to DA.
It's darker & the characters more intense & the remarks that much more cutting for the audience. Some fine perf. from Emily Watson & Helen Mirren and a very young Clive Owen. The Ivor Novello-esque tunes courtesy of Patrick Doyle was also quite a treat!! Loved it!!
