Review of Gorky Park (1983) by Dave J — 22 May 2011
First off, I hate it when they characters are supposed to be speaking in a foreign language and they just speak English with an attempt at that countryâ(TM)s accent. This movie doesnâ(TM)t even try that, though its funny to hear a bunch of people with a British accent.
Truly an 80â(TM)s flick right down to the James Horner score (sound familiar? It should, he did Commando and 48 hrs. which had a very similar score⦠the guy loves steel drums). There wasnâ(TM)t too much of a twist at the end, but it was good cold war era stuff.
Just wondering why William Hurt didnâ(TM)t like to pull out his gun too much. Didnâ(TM)t even know if he carried one half way through the flick!
